The FERSO foundation

The foundation was established in 2004. It aims to support a balanced development of a civil society through education, art and multimedial technologies. The foundation implements its objectives by organizing and financing lectures, seminars, symposiums, workshops and trainings. It arranges trips, green schools, summer and winter camps as well as sponsors concerts, theatrical plays, publications, exhibitions and sport events. The multimedial technologies, particularly the Internet, play an important role in the foundation's activity.

The Youth Programme

The European Voluntary Service (EVS) is part of the YOUTH programme, a European Union programme that promotes the mobility of young people through international activities with a non-formal education dimension such as youth exchanges, voluntary services, youth initiatives and training of youth workers.
EVS is one of the opportunities for young people to get actively involved in European project work. An EVS project gains from intercultural experience, it builds on a trans-national partnership between youth organisations and the volunteer. It promotes local project that is based on everybody’s commitment.

Volunteer, sending organisation and host organisation are the key partners of an EVS project. The willingness of close co-operation between these three is crucial for a successful experience.

In January 2006 a project the Young citizens of the World have been launched. Three young Europeans take part in it: Anniina from Finalnd, Merce from Spain and Ida from Czech Republic. During their 7 month stay they will conduct a series of workshops addressed to the gymnasium and high school youth, intercultural evenings once per month, a festive event on the second anniversary of Poland’s access to the EU, they will also assist with the workshops for children organized by the FERSO foundation.

What have happened so far?

In January the girls came to know the most interesting places in Lodz; learnt how to prepare their individual workshops for youth, took part in a training in Warsaw organized by the National Agency of the Youth Programme and in the beginning of February organized their first workshops for youth from the Gymnasium No 4 called Intercultural Market.

Would you like our volunteers to organize workshops in your school? Do not hesitate to contact us! +48 509 851 704Send a message
